How I Design my "52 Lists. 52 Weeks." Lists

I just now realized that by putting things on flickr, people can actually view them and leave comments!  I feel so silly for having not known this before.  I just spent several minutes reading through comments that have been left on my 52 Lists. 52 Weeks photos.  You all are so sweet for leaving comments.  It makes me feel important when people take the time to leave me feedback.  I feel really guilty for being so busy and not having left comments on anyone's lists lately.  I promise in the near future, that will change!  Anyhow, I did notice a lot of comments about the scrapbook look to my lists.  I just wanted to share with you all how I have been making my lists.  It is so easy to do.  I started out by downloading FREE digital scrapbooking kits from Two Peas In A Bucket and then using the elements in Photoshop Elements.  It was pretty easy to do, but it was also time consuming.  For the last few weeks I have been using My Memories Suite software instead of Photoshop Elements and it has gone a lot faster and been a lot easier.  I am able to not only use the elements that are included in the software, but I also downloaded some free elements form their website, and I was able to use all of the elements I had already downloaded from other websites.  So easy!!

If you are interested in checking out the software, I have a GIVEAWAY going on here and I also have a discount code listed in the post for all of my blog readers.  If you like what you have seen in my List photos, you will love this software!  The big bonus is that it is already way cheaper than other digital software I have seen for scrapbooking.  Check it out!

My Memories Software **GIVEAWAY**

I'm really excited to share with you all some awesome software that I have had the opportunity to try during the last couple weeks. Have you heard about My Memories Suite?  Now, I've always been about scrapbooking the old-fashioned way because I figured digital scrapbooking would be super tough, but it's totally not with My Memories Suite!  It's actually really easy!
Not only can you create scrapbook pages, and even scrapbook albums, but you can add sound and video to them as well to watch form your computer or share with friends.  The possibilities are not limited to scrapbooking though....you can make all kinds of beautiful digital stuff and you can also print it all out!!

Simple and easy collage
Use downloads from other suppliers

Use already made pages
Create your own pages by adding any number of elements and embellishments

I'm trying to remember when the last time was that I did any scrapbooking.  To be honest, it has been a very long time.  Why haven't I done any?  Because it is so time consuming and I always make a huge mess!  Well, My Memories had made these excuses irrelevant!  With the software suite, you make a complete page in just minutes!  And of course you don't have all the extra embellishments and paper scraps all over the floor and your desk!  It's all right there on your screen.  They also have downloads for when you are looking for just the right thing to finish that page. I love both their FREE downloads and their very inexpensive other packs!  Here is a quick look at only a few of them:
What is super awesome is that My Memories wants to give away the suite to one of my super lucky readers!

All you have to do to win this amazing software is go to their website and tell me what fantastic designer pack you would want to create something fantastic  with.

For extra entries you can also

SUMMER is finally here!

Summer is finally here and I am beyond excited!  Summer is by far my favorite season!  We have already had several days over 100 degrees!  It's supposed to be one of the hottest and driest summers that we have had in this area in a very long time.  The hot part I can see, but so far the dry part is not happening!  We have had a lot of cloudy or rainy days.  Tonight we actually had hurricane winds that broke the trees in front of our house, snapped the stems of a few of my garden plants, and took siding off of our house.  Craziness!  I do have some very good news to share with you though....Mr. Fantastic has an interview next week in Utah!!!  I still don't want to jinx it, but I am getting really excited that this might actually happen.  I have a friend over there and she told me that she figures as long as he doesn't tell them that his leadership experience is what he has obtained on Call of Duty (the video game), that we should be just wonderful!  Cross your fingers for us!!  As far as other things go, I have gotten all of my transfer stuff ready to go to Westwood College.  I figure that even if we don't move, I would like their program better and I can stay at home which would be awesome!!!  In Italian class, I am nearly failing.  It is not my favorite thing to do in this world, but I can't keep my head above water because the pace is so fast.  I have a really hard time with my memory -so memorizing 30-40 vocab words and conjugations each night is not working out for me.  By switching to Westwood though, I won't have foreign language as a requirement.  Alright, anyhow, here is a little something I put together about my favorite things I love about summertime.
Please have an awesome summer!

The Sketchbook Project

Have you ever heard of the sketchbook project?  I heard about it earlier this week, and I was super excited about it.  Last night I made my "purchase" and now I am patiently (alright, not so patiently) awaiting my sketchbook to arrive.  You should really check out the details of the project yourself at their website.  But here is a brief little bit about it that I took from the website:

And here is a map showing where the sketchbooks will be touring:

Go check it out and sign up if you can.  I'm really excited!  I mean, how cool is it that anyone that participates will have their sketchbook tour the country, and then be part of the Art Library when the tour is over!?  I also signed up for my sketchbook to be digitalized so everyone can look it up and check it out too!
Well, I hope that your Easter weekend is beautiful!

I came home from work today to a wonderful package of surprises!  I was so very excited!  It was even decorated really cute.  Cheryl from Cartwheels in My Mind sent the box to me.  As I reached in, I kept pulling out all kinds of fun stuff.  The package included a gorgeous necklace, several pieces of fabric, tons of patterned papers, lots of scrapbook stuff, and the list goes on!  I was giddy with joy!  I will post some pictures very soon, but I just really wanted to tell you all about this adorable lady.  She is amazing.  you really need to go check out the site.

[Working On] Thursday: Process Book Sections

Goodness am I tired!  I took a 3 hour nap this morning after class.  I literally pulled an all-nighter.  I was finishing up the printing of my big midterm process book project at 7:55 this morning - 15 minutes before class started.  I think I have put in more time on this darn book than any other project.  I just hope that it gets a good mark.  One bad thing did happen to it.  The last 15 pages or so printed wrong.  It's totally my fault.  I was trying to do a double sided print and put the pages in wrong so the double printed on one side of the paper and printed out of order too.  I'm really hoping that she overlooks that part.  They were filler type pages and this is only the up-to-this-point copy.  Maybe she won't realize it by the time she makes it to page 90 or so?!?!  Here is to hoping because I am so mad.  There was no time to fix it.  I was late to class as it was.  I always feel like she is looking down her nose at me.  I'm probably wrong.  I hope that I am wrong!  I have been told that only 15 students pass portfolio review, so I really need to be wrong!  I guess we will see though.  Anyhow,I just figured out how to turn my pages of an InDesign file into a JPEG file so that I can upload them to blogger.  I had to first export it as a PDF file.  Then I had to open the PDF and save as a JPEG file!  It saved each individual page as a different picture!  Wow!  I am so proud of myself for figuring this out.  It took a while though.  That's fine.  It's done.  So here are some selected pages of my design book:  View The Entire Document

Sorry this is sooooo long!

Here are a few scrapbook pages that I put together tonight.  I've been really wanting to get back into the studio and work on some pages.  I thought it would be great to work on them tonight.  I needed something relaxing to do with my time while hanging out at home alone.  Mr. Fantastic is at work and school starts this week.  Woo hoo!
