National Ice-Cream Day!!!!

Today is the 3rd Sunday of July!  What is so absolutely amazing about this day?  In 1984, President Ronald Reagan declared the 3rd Sunday of July to be a National Holiday!  What kind of National Holiday are we celebrating here?  Only one of the best!  See if you can guess:

All spotted on We<3It!

Did you guess a holiday for IceCream?  That's exactly right!  Yes, it is National Ice Cream Day!!!!  What an awesome holiday.  We're supposed to celebrate it so you better get your fill today.  You can't use the diet excuse either because, afterall, it is a National Holiday!  Hahaha!  Enjoy it friends!

Day 1 of 30 Day Shred. Weightloss. First week of School.

Yesterday was an amazing day!  I went swimming for an hour and I also did my Jillian Michaels' DVD!  I ate healthy but yummy foods, and when I got on the scale this morning....it said I had lost weight!!!!

I must say, that DVD was pretty tough!  It has 3 levels and I did the "easy" level.  In addition to that, there are two different levels within that easy level, and I did the "easy" level on that as well!  It was far from easy!  You should have seen me trying to walk down the stairs afterwards!  I was stumbling because my muscles were so tired in my legs!  Awesome!
The first week at school passed by.  Classes went alright.  I am speechless at the amount of money I have to spend on supplies though.  So far I have bought a small portion of supplies for one class and spent $100!  I still have a ton of supplies to get for that one though.  In addition to that, I also have three other ones that I have to buy supplies for, and I am not talking about the textbooks that I already bought!  Hahaha!  Education is so so so expensive!  I have a ton of homework already as well.  Yikes!
Well, I'm off to do my DVD again and then we are heading to WalMart for some supplies on my list.  The great part about getting all that done is that once it is done, Dakota is taking me to the movies tonight! Wohooo!

Are you ready to take 30 days of your life and see what can happen???  You should join us on Jamie's adorable blog.

There's strength in numbers and I hope you'll join us!
Beginning July 15th, for 30 days, I'll be doing the 30 Day Shred by Jillian Michaels.  Jamie started this all up at her blog and I decided that it is time to jumpstart my get fit plan.

I have been suffering from the symptoms of Hypothyroidism for three years now. After the military doctors told me there was nothing wrong, I did research myself. I thought it might be hypothyroidism and asked the doctor about it, but he assured me that it was nothing. A medical discharge for mental health and three years later a doctor finally listened and sure enough.... hypothyroidism. I had actually begun to believe I was crazy and making up the symptoms! So, here I am starting to get my life back and trying to loose some weight as well. I have stuggled with my weight. Recently I began a doctor supervised nutrition plan called MOVE. The hypothyroidism played it's part in me gaining 55 lbs in the last year and a half. I had lost hope completely of being in my recommended healthy weight range. Now though, I see that the weight gain had a cause, and now I can be treated. As I begin treatment for hypothyroidism, I am hoping that a balanced diet in combinatinon with excercise will help me reach a healthy weight again.

If you haven't heard of the 30 Day Shred before, it's a 20 minute workout that combines strength training, cardio and abs. It's HARD and it WORKS. I want to challenge myself and accomplish this.
Anybody else in?????

Here's what you need to do if you want to join Jamie and several others:

1. Take a before photo.
2. Take your before measurements.
(I'm going to measure hips, thighs, arms/biceps and waist.)
3. Go to Jamie's blog and comment
4. Purchase the dvd or borrow somebody's.
5. Once we're finished with our 30 days, we'll celebrate our accomplishments together!!!!

A couple Drawings from Class

Hey all!  I can't believe that today was the first day of class for Summer semester!  So exciting!  I really think that I am going to enjoy my Architectural Drawing class.  It seems like the structure will be pretty laid back.  Being that I'm starting some new classes though, I guess I should post up a couple more pictures from last quarter.

These were from a basic drawing class.  I'd taken drawing classes in highschool, but wow, that was 8or 9 years ago that Itook them.  It might have even been 10 years ago.  Okay, I just had a "I'm getting older" moment!  I can't beleive it has actually been that long.  It seems like only a couple years have passed since graduation.  I graduated in 2003.  Yikes!  I guess I did pretty good considering it's been so long since a formal drawing class!  Hahaha!
I have one more post either tonight or tomorrow morning for you.  If I don't post it up tonight though, I hope your night is pretty and full of lucky stars to wish upon!
